Connect a blog address you control
Choose the managed blog route in RankYourApp and enter your intended public blog address. This setup works alongside Shopify, using a subdomain of your business's own domain.
For a Shopify-managed domain, add the exact subdomain records from RankYourApp in the store's domain settings. If another provider manages DNS, make the change there. The shop's main domain and checkout continue to use their existing setup.
Complete DNS and HTTPS verification before directing readers to the blog. The temporary rankyourapp.io/blogs/ preview address is for checking the setup and is not the permanent public destination.
Connect the reader journey
Add the verified blog address to the store's navigation. Use articles to answer relevant buying or product-care questions, and check any links to actual product and collection pages. Product availability and prices should be reviewed against the current store.
Choose topics related to real customer questions and services you actually offer. Set review mode while checking the first articles so someone familiar with the business can approve important claims before publication.
Preserve existing articles
Keep an existing Shopify blog and its article URLs in place. The managed subdomain described here is separate from Shopify's native blog. Inventory the existing archive before deciding where new editorial content should live.
A blog on your own website path instead of a subdomain requires a separate, compatible server-side or build-time installation. Ask the person maintaining the website to assess the developer API requirements before selecting that route. A browser embed alone does not provide the required article HTML.
Common questions
- Does this publish into the native Shopify blog?
- The supported route described here uses a separate managed blog on your own subdomain. It does not publish into Shopify's native blog or CMS.
- What do I need before starting?
- Access to the domain's DNS, the intended blog address and permission to update the main site's navigation. Someone who manages the website can complete those steps for you.
