Connect a managed blog to your store, set up its DNS and add it to a Shopify menu.
Connect a managed blog for your store
Choose Another website platform and managed placement in RankYourApp. Use blog.yourcompany.com on a custom domain you control. You cannot use your store's shared myshopify.com domain as a domain you own for this setup.
The managed route publishes a separately hosted blog. It does not create articles in Shopify's native blog, and requires no Shopify Admin API token, custom app or storefront access token. Request the DNS records in RankYourApp and follow DNS setup.
If Shopify manages your domain's DNS
- In Shopify admin, open Settings → Domains and select your domain.
- In DNS settings, click Manage.
- Click Add custom record and choose the required record type.
- Enter the record details from RankYourApp and click Confirm.
Use these controls for a Shopify-managed domain. If you use custom nameservers or an external DNS provider, add the records there. Keep Shopify's existing store records intact. Check the resulting full host name against the requested name before finishing; do not reset all DNS settings. Shopify's official DNS guide
Return to RankYourApp and run Check DNS, HTTPS and installation until the live domain is verified.
Keep an existing Shopify blog
A managed blog is separate from an existing /blogs/ section in your store. It does not copy old articles, set redirects or change the storefront theme. Preserve old URLs and decide any migration separately. Existing blogs
If your developer proposes an installation within your own store's article routes, they must meet the full Developer API contract. A browser script with a workspace key is not a valid installation. There is no direct Shopify-native publishing credential form in the current customer setup.
