Framer

Choose your CMS collection, map the article fields and preserve your page template.

Prepare your Framer blog

In Connections, choose Framer · direct CMS publishing and the address on your website. Publish your Framer project to your custom domain or a .framer.website address first. The form includes a setup prompt for Framer's assistant. It asks the assistant to reuse the existing article collection and detail page, preserve existing posts and bind the visible article and search fields.

Create your project API key in Framer under Site settings → General → API keys. Enter the secret only in RankYourApp's Project API key field.

Choose the collection and fields

Enter the Framer project URL and project API key, then click Find my article collection. Choose the collection and check each mapping:

  • Article title: a string field.
  • Article body: a formatted text field.
  • Summary: a string field.
  • Cover image: an image field.
  • Optional publication date, author name, search title and search description.

The form can suggest matching fields. Check that they are the fields your page template actually displays.

Categories, visibility and URLs

If the collection has category or visibility fields, choose the values new articles should use under Template categories and visibility. These matter when your listing filters by category, Featured or Latest. Put published articles first in the collection changes their position while keeping the other items' relative order.

Set Article URL prefix to your existing CMS detail page path, such as /article-details. Each article uses that path followed by its slug. Keep an existing blog's template path and post URLs.

Publishing and existing posts

Framer publishing waits while the project has other unpublished changes. Resolve those changes in Framer before retrying. Use Read existing posts in Connections to inventory your existing content; continue with Read next 100 existing posts if offered. Existing blogs

After connecting, use Check again and inspect the public blog when an article is delivered. The listing and detail page need to display the mapped fields.
