Reviewing an article

Read a draft, edit its words, preview it, approve it, schedule it or reject it.

Open the article

Review lists drafts waiting for you, articles held for checks and publication problems. Open an article to see its explanation and controls. Review mode is set in Schedule and approval, with a choice to wait indefinitely or publish an unanswered draft after a chosen number of days.

Edit and preview

Under The words, edit Title, Short summary and The article. The short summary accompanies the article. Managed blogs use it in the page and search metadata; other connections depend on their page template and field mappings. WordPress receives it as the post excerpt and within the body, while its theme or SEO plugin controls search metadata. How it will read shows a rendered preview of your current text.

Click Save edits to keep changes without publishing. The editor has an explicit save button; changing the words is not itself a publication request. Image controls are separate. Article images

Approve or schedule

Approve and publish now requests verification and publication. For a held or failed draft, the button says Request checks and publication instead. Approval does not bypass checks.

For later publication, enter a future Date and time under Publish later instead, then click Schedule. This picker uses your browser's local date and time. Check the resulting status in Calendar. A scheduled request is not proof of live delivery.

Rejecting an article

Reject opens a confirmation. Confirming marks the article as rejected and drops its matching topic from the queue. It will not be published. Use Off limits on Topics if you also want a wider subject or phrase excluded from future writing. Topics and off limits

Published articles

An article that is published or being delivered has its words locked in this editor, so its live version keeps the verified content. View on your blog opens its recorded public address. Published image changes have their own supported controls; they do not unlock the words.
